The Craig Era has been an odd one. It's almost like they took themselves too seriously. But without the camp, we grade movies harsher. Bond is supposed to be ridiculous

It's more like that the writers wanted to make a "serious" Bond film so bad that they tried everything to separate the new bond from campy bond, but in the process they failed to make a good spy; which is the total point of the franchise.

If I had a choice of watching the bourne trilogy or the new era bond films, then I would go with Bourne. It's just a great spy movie The new Bond era tries to be edgy and cool, but it's mostly just dull and fails to commit to making a good spy film.

Skyfall was the closest they came to being a good spy movie.

Rewatched Casino tonight. Have to get the other two in before hitting theaters. Really loved Casino but forgot how big a roll the popularity of World Poker tour played on it lol. And honestly it might not be that bad if they didn't have to have Basil Exposition (Mathis) explain every poker nuance
