| Good to know! Picking my copy up on Friday. Kinda intrigued by the whole thing.
I was just outside the target 'age bracket' when the Powers Rangers became a big thing, so this is a kinda era I missed.

When it comes to art for books, I either like it or I don't.
I like the art for this book for a variety of reasons, one of those is how the guy draws the zords. Drawing people is one thing but also drawing giant robots? Ive seen people who are great at mech but meh at people and visa versa...but for this guy to be good at both is impressive.

mini poll: Amy Jo Johnson or Katee Sackhoff Pink Ranger?
|Posted by: The Big G Feb 17 2016, 12:41 PM|
| Amy Jo all the way. She was the crush for an entire generation.
Though Jen from Time Force was probably the most bad ass Pink Ranger of them all.
Looking back I feel collectively the female yellow rangers (especially during the Disney era) were way hotter than the pink rangers.
Also word on the street is that issue 1 has sold over 100k in pre-orders.

| Issue One is out and with it we begin Green Ranger Year One.
Issue One pretty much picks up right after Issue Zero in that it deals with the aftermath of Rita's recent monster attack. Bulk and Skull do some Jaywalking to see what the people think of the new Green Ranger. ANd it's a bit of a mixed bag. With the Rangers, we dont see a whole lot of Trini and Billy but they're going to try to fix the Dragonzord, Zack and Jason get stuck in detention, and Tommy and Kimberly get some training in. While Rita moves into the next phase of her plan, and has Scorpina attack Tommy at his home.
Not a whole lot of action in this, aside from Tommy and Kimberly doing' Zordon's version of the Kobayashi-Maru in their own Danger Room/Pocket Dimension. Lots of nice character beats though. Zack also appears to having some issues at home, that odds are we'll explore later on. Also I feel the art for this is great. Also a couple of visual easter eggs too for fans too.

| First off some pretty excellent news!
The first issue of MMPR was the second highest selling comic of March with at least over 100k units shipped to stores. It was second only to Batman in sales.
Issue two starts with Billy and Trini doing some system checks on the Dragonzord. Billy and trini chat about the zords, tommy's addition to the group and how Billy feels a little bit of an outsider because he's more techy than they are. I think deep down he wanted a Scient Bro.
Also we get this gorgeous shot of the Dragonzord under water.
We then shift back to Tommy getting ambushed in his home by Scorpina. He manages to get her away from his Mom, and the two duke it out. Turns out Rita's plan with the crystal involves green chaos energy and if she gets the green power coin shit will happen.
We then switch to Kimberly waiting for Jason to wrap up his karate class. She talks about how Tommy bailed on her, and Jason's sensei wants to have TOmmy come help teach classes because he apparently knows Wadō-ryū karate and she wants to have them co-teach it to their advanced class. Jason seems a little unnerved about this. But Zordon calls them away to help Tommy.
They save Tommy and at the Power Chamber Billy reveals that nothing is wrong with the Dragonzord and it just stopped listening to Tommy. Tommy is frustrated with what he thinks is them saying he's inferior but he passes out as the ghost of Rita taunts him.
A good follow up issue. Though Zack got the short end of the stick this issue. The art continues to be wonderful. Ya'll out to pick this up.

|How was Power Rangers this week? Still going strong?|
|Posted by: The Big G May 11 2016, 03:58 PM|
This week was more character focus. A really great scene between Trini and Tommy. Plus the Dragonzord goes rogue! Also Zack is very skeptical/worried about Tommy. Also Rita plans to open up some kinda of portal?

|Does this line up with the show at all?|
|Posted by: The Big G May 31 2016, 09:12 AM|
| The main series from what I can tell is its own story follows the show up till Tommy joins the group...though it may follow the show down the line..
That being said the Kimberly mini series that starts tomorrow follows the show and deals with Kimberly's story after she left the team and Kat became the pink ranger

| SO Its been a while yeah?
ANYWHO this book has been excellent. Its familiar yet new. The art is great, the story is great.
Anywho a brief summary of what's going on up till now:
Using the crystal from issue 0. Rita opens a portal and summons the Robotic Black Dragon to Earth. He quickly smacks the Power Rangers around, and captures Billy while the Rangers retreat to a pocked dimesnion. Using Billy's morpher, the Black Dragon cuts the rangers off from the Morphing Grid, save for Tommy, and takes over the zords.
Jason and Tommy take the Dragonzord to the moon to try to rescue billy. They fail but they wound the Black Dragon. Using his tech, Tommy lends his powers to the other rangers who wear green versions of their normal suits. They take their zords back and engage the Black Dragon. Billy convinces Goldar to release him and he and Tommy go inside the Black Dragon and find out he's a zord. Made up from pieces of the Dragonzord. As the Rangers beat the BD, Tommy and Billy get sucked into a dystopian alt universe ruled by Lord Drakkon and his Mastodon Sentries (who was controlling the Black Dragon).
Here's Lord Drakkon for ya'll:
