All the other animals I posted reproduce sexually too. They just don't have Y chromosomes.

The plural of bacteria is bacteria, in the same way data are plural. Singular is bacterium and datum respectively, but only pedants (or like, academics, same diff) bother to make the distinction. I only know it cuz I have to write about data and bacteria a lot.

I was referring more in general terms, and not to the species you specified in your post. Sorry I should have made that distinction.
